Colorectal and General Surgeon

Mr Menon’s clinical practice encompasses colorectal and general surgery, with specialist interests including: Laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery Colonoscopy and therapeutic endoscopy Treatment of anal and perianal conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, and pilonidal sinus Hernia repair and other general surgical procedures Management of inflammatory bowel disease and complex bowel pathology

Mr Menon qualified in medicine (MBBS) and completed general surgical training in India before relocating to the UK. He entered the specialist colorectal and general surgery training programme in the West Midlands and completed a Laparoscopic Colorectal Fellowship in Bristol in 2006. He was appointed as a consultant surgeon in 2007. Over the course of his career, he has performed thousands of colonoscopies and hundreds of colorectal cancer operations, and he holds extensive experience in minimally invasive surgical techniques.

During his surgical training years, Mr Menon published research in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at international meetings. His academic interests include clinical outcomes in colorectal surgery, therapeutic endoscopy and laparoscopic techniques. He also holds roles training junior surgeons and is a faculty member at the East Midlands Endoscopy Training Centre.
Mr Menon is affiliated with several professional bodies, including: Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) Medical Defence Union (MDU) British Medical Association (BMA) He has held senior leadership positions within NHS surgical governance, including Clinical Governance Lead, Service Director and Clinical Chair of Surgical Divisions.
