They can cause pain with periods and sometimes the pain can be chronic as well as causing pain with intercourse. Endometriosis is not always easily seen on ultrasound scans, but the test can be helpful in some cases.

If you have painful periods heavy menstrual cycles severe cramps or chronic pelvic pain, then these are a few symptoms of endometriosis. We recommend discussing it with your doctor to see if an ultrasound would be of benefit.

A pelvic sonograph of the ovaries can be used to check for tumors or cysts on the ovaries. these are easily seen on ultrasound scans. They are mainly benign but occasionally can be cancerous. Early diagnosis is very important. These cysts can cause pain, swelling and irregular bleeding.

The high-frequency sound waves create a picture of the ovaries, to help doctors diagnose problems.
