Menopause

Menopause is part of ageing process, and we all go though it. Some would say they have flown though menopause and have been asymptomatic, others do struggle to understand what is wrong with them. Women have been suffering for a long time and it is only recently that the health care system responded to the women needs in relation to hormonal changes in particular perimenopause and menopause.

HRT is available on the NHS as well though a variety of private Health Settings. Although HRT in any form is aimed to delay ageing process, control symptoms such as: hot flushes, sleepless nights, anger, irritability, depression, low mood, muscle and joint pains, low libido, hair loss as well as prevent conditions among which we are listing only a few such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, dementia.

Starting on HRT requires a medical assessment as many of the symptoms caused by menopause can be caused by other medical problems and it does take skill and knowledge to identify if perimenopause or menopause is the cause of symptoms.

Menopause is not one day or week in a year… Menopause starts with few symptoms at the start of perimenopause which will evolve over few years as the hormone levels will lower gradually. The earlier you talk to a specialist in menopause the earlier symptoms can be controlled with help of HRT.

Whenever you just started with symptoms or you have experienced them for many years, if you feel something is missing or should be changed, please come and talk to us. We provide assessment for menopause, blood tests and a variety choice of HRT.  We also ensure appropriate reviews and follow ups with checks and tests every year as your safety while taking HRT is paramount for us.

Should you decide on NHS treatment we will refer to your GP with a letter advising treatment on the NHS so you can be reassured of continuous treatment.

We also offer assessment, advice, treatment and referrals on perimenopause, PCOS, and Andropause.

  • Advice is offered for hair loss and acne when this is related to hormonal changes so why don’t you come for an assessment and discuss options.

Additional test such as Pelvic Ultrasound Scans and Mammograms – referral letters provided and included in costs of consultations. Tests will be charged by the health care provider chosen by client, but we can make recommendations of places/ charges.
