How does deep collagen stimulation work?

To ensure that the treatment is comfortable and pain-free, Dr Jacobus A. Vlok’s team will first apply a local anaesthetic to numb the skin.

After the anaesthetic has taken effect, they will utilise a Dermastamp medical device. This uses a gentle gliding motion to insert micro-needles into the skin. These create tiny columns in the dermis of the skin, stimulating collagen production so that the skin renews and restores itself naturally.

These columns close rapidly so that the skin heals on the same day.

Your Treatment

How many treatments will you need?

For most people, three treatment sessions are recommended, with 4-6 weeks between each session.

However, if you have scarring from acne, stretch marks, or other causes, Dr Vlok may need to extend your treatment because repairing your natural collagen is more difficult. You may need up to ten procedures to observe long-lasting improvements in your skin’s appearance.

When will you see results?

Collagen forms to create new skin cells and improve your blood supply, making your skin appear plumper and more youthful within six weeks after the treatment.

Your skin keeps reviving and repairing in the following months, generating new skin cells so you will soon see noticeable and long-lasting improvements in your skin.

When can you go back to work?

Patients can usually return to work within one or two days after treatment.

How long do the results last?

The results can last for several years. This is one reason deep collagen stimulation by Dermastamp is such a popular treatment for ageing or scarred skin.

What products are recommended afterwards?

Dr Vlok will recommend gentle topical serums for your skin and advise on which skincare products should be avoided.

Which other procedures work well with Dermastamp Deep Collagen Stimulation?

GLO PRP (also known as the ‘vampire face lift’) and Botulinum wrinkle reduction (botox) are highly recommended as complementary procedures, enhancing the effects of Deep Collagen Stimulation by Dermastamp.
